History
Brookline Electric Inc was established circa 1955 by Mr. John Brookman. In 1970 I returned to California from Hawaii. I applied for a job at IBEW local 6. I was assigned to Brookline Electric. When John found out I like working with old knob & tube wires, he said "SUPER!" I worked on the largest wood frame building in S.F. which is still located kitty-cornered from the Safeway Store at Church & Duboce on Market and 14 Th Streets.
Interestingly John's brother was the foreman. They made a good team. Nothing good or otherwise got by them. We restored the building after a fire. I remember being distracted by the Water Gate hearings on the TV in the office.
John got cancer circa 1990 (citation needed) and put Th business in to a trust. His son Rick took over the business and later sold it to David Belisle's father. David has been one of the main electricians for John and he, his father and his mother ran the business for a few years.
In September 1994 I bought Brookline Electric.
